Fundamental Datasets

The following is an extract of the definition of a fundamental dataset as determined by WALIS. A Fundamental Dataset is one that cannot be derived from another dataset and is essential to the outcomes of a number of agencies.

The following fundamental datasets are those for which Landgate is the recognised custodian as defined by WALIS, except for Road Centreline for which Main Roads is the recognised custodian however Landgate is maintaining the Dataset under a memorandum of agreement.

These fundamental datasets were identified by WALIS in 1995 with some additions since.
